Comments

Channahon, Ill. - Despite only have three runners active for the race, there was plenty for first-year head coach Kyle Rago to be excited about when the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team lined up for its first meet of the 2014 season Friday evening at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Twilight Invite in Channahon, Ill.  The biggest highlight came in the form of junior Janis Pastars (Ogre, Latvia/Cameron University/Latvia) winning the 5K (5,000 meters) race with a stellar time of 15:50.20.  Senior Kyle Counter (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) and junior transfer Victor Solis (Cicero, Ill./Morton College/Morton East) were the other two SXU finishers Friday.  Solis finished in 22nd place with a time of 17:17, while Counter turned in a time of 17:37 for 27th place.
